10. BRIAN McGUINNESS
Another player who's earmarked for a future hall of fame entry, Brian is a Shane veteran who joined the team in 2008. In his favored centre midfield position, he possesses the ability to dictate play and control the tempo of the game with his vision, range of passing and intelligence on and off the ball.
Brian is consistently one of the team’s best performers and is known well throughout the league as a player capable of pulling magical moments out of the bag. In addition to playing an important role in winning aerial duels, he has a great touch and close control and as the saying goes, he has “great feet for a big man”. Over the years he’s provided his fair share of long range stunners, converted penalties and provided important assists.
Due to injury, Brian’s appearances were limited during the 2016 season, and he was very much missed in the middle of the park. His commitment to the cause has never wavered however, and Shane will be looking forward to him playing more in 2017 and providing that element of calm and control that will help the team achieve greatness.
