All square as Shane and B52 share the spoils

A late equaliser from Alex Patrascu held B52's to a 2-2 draw in torrential rain at JinHe.

Starting quickly, Shane were on the front foot for the opening 20 minutes. Numerous chances came and went, with Lukas hitting the post and having a shot saved. Shane were ruing their missed chances when B52 took the lead through a fortune ricochet that put their striker, Danny, through one on one to calmly place in the corner leaving Adam Łupiński with no chance.

B52 were pushing for a second, but the defence led by Dan Engel and Danny Miller held firm and the half-time whistle blew with B52 leading 1-0, and Shane feeling somewhat hard-done by. Heads didn’t drop though, and Shane reaped their rewards shortly into the second-half when Paul Warren made a mazy run down the left wing, driving into the box and squaring it for Blake Pattenden to slot home his first Shane goal.

B52 fought back, taking the lead through an unstoppable strike from their CB Brian after a quick free kick. 2-1.

That could've been that, but Shane kept their heads up and their hard work paid off 5 minutes from time when a Jayke Langley free kick was fumbled by the keeper and reinvented central midfielder Alex Patrascu pounced on the rebound to draw the scores level.

Great performances across the pitch but MOTM goes to Alex Patrascu for his commanding performance in central midfield. His presence and strength in the midfield was vital and his ability to pick a pass gave us an outlet and opened up numerous attacks.

Shane can be proud of another good performance, the fight shown after going behind twice to the reigning champions will stand them in good stead for the rest of the season.

Shane are back in action against Red Lions at 15:00 on May 29th!
