Shane find their shooting boots in win over Eagles

After an uncharacteristically slow start to the season, we finally got that goal-shaped monkey off our backs with a convincing win over Eagles.

Starting the game brightly, we opened the scoring with a Zach penalty after Jamie was felled in the box.

Zach stepped up again to double our advantage before the break after some excellent wing play from Dan Swift, notching up his first assist of the day.

Eagles pulled one back early in the second half after winning a penalty in the 22 yard box. The kick was retaken multiple times, but the striker kept his cool to ensure the score was pulled back to 2-1.

We weathered the storm as Eagles poured forward in search of an equaliser, and it wasn't long before we restored our two-goal cushion with some more quality play from Dan Swift, who fired a low cross onto the toes of Lukas who calmly placed it past the keeper.

We then sealed the win with a potential goal of the season contender as Lukas fired a well-worked indirect free-kick past the helpless Eagles keeper.

Many contenders for MOTM but it goes to Michael Schmidt Nielsen for his commanding performance in CM. He kept the game ticking alongside midfield partner Jamie who also had a fantastic game. A special mention to Dan Swift as well who put in his best performance to date in a Shane shirt.

Our league will resume around September, but in the meantime, we'll be competing in the Songshan Cup as well as meeting every Thursday for our kickabout sessions.
